Light Up the New Year at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet. It’s a bright way to kick off 2020. The sculpture gardens are open from 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 27, 28 and 31 with thousands of hand-lit candles, holiday lights and mu-sic.
Come aboard the USS Yorktown for its Countdown to 2020, one of the Charleston area’s most anticipated celebra-tions. Located in Charleston Harbor in Mt. Pleasant, the Yorktown gives guests an opportunity to explore the entire ship, enjoy a top-shelf all-inclusive bar and light hors d’oeuvres, as well as get down to live band and DJ perfor-mances on three stages. Not actually a New Year’s Eve celebration, but you can still enjoy the Designer Holiday Showcase at the Kaminski Museum in Georgetown with guided tours throughout the day on Dec. 31. Tours feature the work of some of the area’s best home decor specialists and interior designers as they decorate the rooms of the museum in holiday splendor.
